Using email marketing is the safest option to achieve the desired customer loyalty . By sending newsletters, the periodic bulletin with news and offers from our store, we will invite the user to stay up to date with the weekly news of the store. through a simple subscription.
And why is it important to have subscribers? Because this way we can focus our efforts on reaching those interested and, in the process, we can ensure a success rate for our advertising campaign . In addition, we will avoid the fear of being considered spam, mind you.
For this new tutorial we take note and show you how to get the most out of newsletters thanks to MailChimp , the well-known mass email tool. With a little luck (and some patience), reaching the customer in a clear, precise and sophisticated way will stop being the dream goal of your e-commerce and will become a reality.
Ready? Let's go.
Create an account in MailChimp
Go to the following address to register your new MailChimp account . We can tell you in advance that it is not very complicated, although you should take your time to read everything carefully. The registration form with our company details will be reflected at the end of each newsletter (company name, website, physical address and the type of market we belong to), so be careful because every detail counts.
Install MailChimp PrestaShop Module
The next step of the tutorial is to get the MailChimp module for PrestaShop . Download it without fear (it’s free!) and unzip the file to your Desktop. Now go to the PrestaShop administration panel, look for the “Modules” section and click on “Add new module”. Choose the downloaded file and click on “Upload this module”. Next, the “Install” option will appear. Click on it and let the magic of PrestaShop do its work.
Create a user list
Once installed, go to the module configuration page and click on " Connect Your Store" to enter your MailChimp details: username and password. The most important step now is to choose a user list already created in MailChimp or create a new one by synchronizing the contacts from PrestaShop. In either case, the process is very simple and follows the following scheme.
We add the name and email of our registered customers in PrestaShop, confirm that the data is correct and accept. We now have the user list integrated into MailChimp.Create a newsletter campaign
With the PrestaShop user list imported into our MailChimp account, we can now create our first newsletter campaign. On the MailChimp page, go to the “Campaigns” option and click on “ Create our first campaign ”. It will give us two options: “Create an Email” and “Create an Ad”. We choose the first one and within it we click on the “Regular” option.
We will complete the following screens with all the campaign information:- We select the list to which we want to send the campaign, this time the PrestaShop list.
- We add the basic information of the newsletter : name, subject of the email ( “Newsletter 1, October 2017”, for example ), campaign URL, Auto-publish on Twitter and Facebook,...
- We choose the template that best suits the needs of the contact list.
- Ready? Feel free to confirm.
